摘要: Divergence-free vector fields arise in many physical applications, for example in hydrodynamics. It has been shown, however, that standard numerical integration methods (Runge-Kutta methods, and more generally B-series methods) cannot preserve this property in all cases.In this talk we discuss some alternatives: splitting methods, and Runge-Kutta methods that preserve volume for SOME but NOT ALL divergence-free vector fields.
